How Much Does It Take To Tire Out A Shiba Inu Dog Or A Puppy?

Tomorrow, i want to go get my shiba inu puppy from a breeder. I know shiba’s are very smart, intelligent and stubborn. But can they play like catch and games? Do they love to be hugged and pet? Because i like touching their fur.
Also how much does it take to tire out a shiba inu puppy and a dog when it grows up? Like many walks or games?
I am also 16, a teenager who has to go to school and come home at 3 o clock. Do you think i can handle the dog eventhough i am in for school? my grandparents are there though.

    You should take time to read the info at this site tonight before you pick up your new puppy:http://www.shibas.org/newstand/geninfo.h…
    Good luck and make sure that you are well aware of all the responsibility that comes with getting your puppy. Find a good vet, make sure you get the dog neutered/spayed, regular vet visits…all are very important to raising a happy and healthy pet :}

    Shiba’s are NOT cuddly dogs… they are cute…all the other characteristics are correct… they are VERY active… a tired dog is a well behaved dog ;) so, lots of time outside learning new tricks… they are VERY smart… & training is easier becauseof this… I think you should do a little more research before getting this kind of dog if you’re wanting a snuggler for rainy days… they are very independant dogs…

    They don’t need lots of walking, but do walk him/her daily. From what I heard that they are very cat like. Independent. But I’m sure they like to cuddle too, what pup doesn’t? Enjoy your new baby.=)

    well im 17 and i got a shiba inu 2 months ago. she likes to play catch but it wont entertain her for more than 10 minutes. she LOVES to be petted, like 24/7, but good luck giving one a bath b/c shiba inus HATE them. luckily, this particular breed doesnt need to be bathed as often as other dogs. but a good 25 minute walk/jog will tire her out. but remember, puppies have a lot more energy than dogs <1, so u may need to walk ur puupy longer. also, they house train VERY easily, which is nice. good luck!

    Shiba inus are wonderful dogs! They can be quite playful too. I had one play a trick on me once. I was dog sitting for him -Koji is his name. I let him outside and he vanished. I was running around like a mad woman trying to find him – calling and calling. Finally, I happened to look up the hill and there he was sitting at the top of the property. I swear he was laughing!
    If you treat your shiba with respect and kindness you will have a friend for life. They do have wonderful fur and very soft ears. They need daily walks, training and lots of stimulation.
    I’m sure you will make a wonderful dog dad!

    walk & play w/ the pup at least 30 – 45 mins -2x/day. They need to go use the potty frequently though

    It’s going to be very difficult, but yes, it’s possible. Your going to need to spend allot of time with you new puppy whenever your home. It’s going to get tiring quick so stay strong! Puppies are pretty darn hard to tire out. Play with himher for about an hour. Go on a walk, run with her in your back yard, stuff like that. You have to realize also that puppies are just coming from their mothers. Their babies. It’s going to need allot of love. Now that’s not petting him and kissing him constantly. That’s tucking him between your legs when you do your homework. His mom wasn’t playing with him constantly either. She just sat next to him and petted him. Play with him and then when your tired. It’s time for him to be done. Take him inside and if he has a kennel, put him in it. Let him take a nap. He’ll appreciate it. If not then set him on the couch or in the corner and let him take a nap. If he’s at your heels and won’t go to sleep. It’s fine. He’ll tire out just following you around.
